Marist Fathers New Zealand: Life and spirit
After four days of preparation, the General Chapter has begun. It opened with a Mass of the Holy Spirit, led by the Superior General. Mass was not until 9pm at night, the hope perhaps being that it would have cooled down by then, however the temperature remained over 30 degrees.
Forty-four submissions were received from provincial and district chapters, these included 16 formal postulata to the General Chapter. The General Chapter began on 28 August. The first few days are set aside for, in broad terms, “getting to know you.” Tim Duckworth.
Delegates to the General Chapter will gather for a time of preparation, prior to the General Chapter commencing.
