Delegates to the General Chapter will gather for a time of preparation, prior to the General Chapter commencing.
It’s often been the experience that delegates arrive at Chapters often after long flights, or immediately after heavy administrative or pastoral commitments. Taking time to “arrive” physically and psychologically will help the Chapter to do its work of discernment.
Craig Larkin and Martin McAnaney have prepared a program for the four days before the Chapter begins.
These days of preparation have three aims; to help people to relax and overcome travel or work fatigue; to help the members of the Chapter to get to know each other; and to begin to build a climate of faith in the group. The days of preparation begin on Friday 28 August and conclude on the eve of the Chapter, 31 August.
